Services

Physiotherapy & Speech Pathology services for Parkinson’s Disease and other progressive degenerative conditions and beyond.

What’s included in your

care pathway:

Initial consultation (60 mins)

In this session, we get to meet each other. Using the time to understand the needs of the patient and carer, we ensure everyone who will be involved in the care journey is equipped and supported. Together we walk through:

  • the patient’s medical diagnosis and relevant medical history
  • identifying any issues and concerns
  • physical assessment (including mobility)
  • the physical and lifestyle goals of the patient and the carer
  • how Upside Care can assist with a mutually agreed plan and strategies.

Second consultation (45-60 mins)

Here you’ll be presented with a personalised care pathway. Aimed at helping you progress toward your goals with less overwhelm, we’ll identify and discuss any other services that may assist the patient’s health with a timeline to commence specific physical therapy treatment.

Subsequent consultations (30-45 mins)

Implementation is often where great plans fall… which is why we ensure you’re supported the whole way through with subsequent follow-ups. By being your dependable support ongoing, we can continue supplying you with personalised advice and guidance as needed to ensure you remain on track.

Art Therapy

Welcome to botanical Art Therapy!

We understand the unique challenges that Parkinson’s disease and other neurological conditions can present, and we believe that art can be a powerful tool for disease management and self-expression. Our specialised art therapy classes combine the beauty of nature with the therapeutic benefits of art creation, specifically designed for individuals living with a neurological condition.

Our small group classes are led by experienced and compassionate art education and facilitator, Janelle who is passionate about helping people discover the therapeutic value of creative expression through accessible visual art-making.  The classes are nurturing and inclusive opportunities for participants to explore their creativity, improve motor skills, and enhance their social and emotional well-being.

What to expect in our classes?

Our botanical art therapy classes take place in a small group setting and may include a combination of art-making techniques such as drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage, using botanical subjects as inspiration (in a private garden) and art-making tools. Materials and supplies are provided, and no prior art experience is necessary.

If you or a loved one is living with Parkinson’s disease, we invite you to join our botanical art therapy classes. Discover the healing power of art, the beauty of nature, and the joy of self-expression.

Season-themed introductory classes run throughout the year. Please contact us for more information.

1-on-1 or groups classes are available upon request.

Regain your quality of life with a care pathway that’s right for you.
