Path Finder by Walk With Path
Many people living with Parkinson’s disease experience difficulties in walking. A common challenge is what is called freezing of gait (FOG) or “sticky feet”. Path Finder (laser shoe attachment) is a TGA-approved class 1 medical device that alleviates freezing of gait.
While you might sometimes freeze or feel stuck, this does not mean you have lost the ability to move. The Path Finder attaches to your usual walking shoe and projects a visual cue in front of you which can help your brain to initiate movement and resume walking. A number of users find this aid particularly helpful at doorways when turning and changing directions.
Path Finder is designed to help you grow your confidence in movement and encourage independent mobility.
The Path Finder is an NDIS-approved mobility equipment aid.
A thirty-minute clinician-guided fitting and trial can be booked for $49, which can be applied towards the purchase of the item. The fee is waived for all current Upside Care patients.
